Favorite Things 2022

Favorite Things 2022

It is one of my favorite nights of the entire year.  If you’re not familiar with a Favorite Things party – there’s a zillion variations of this but this is one where we come armed with our favorite items that fit a certain criteria and price point, which our hostess has decided upon.

This year, she gave us 2 categories: Beauty and Home.

Our limit for each category was $60 and a maximum of 2 items per category.  Rule breaking or bending is strongly frowned upon, unless a very good reason is offered.  Like you got something deeply discounted on Black Friday or bought it wholesale through some connection, etc.

We do the exchange Dirty-Santa-White-Elephant-Yankee-Swap style with the stealing and all that – if you have no idea what I’m talking about, let me know in the comments. Anyway! Some years its so intense, some years the gifts are just so universally good that there’s hardly any stealing or scheming. Only once have I seen someone get butthurt over what they ended up going home with.

Lastly, our hostess has us wrap the presents inconspicuously, so that the person choosing doesn’t know who gave what – but once the present is revealed, you can go to town “selling” the benefits of your item to your hearts content.   And believe me we do. I happen to think I absolutely CLEANED UP this year and left with some seriously amazing stuff, but it almost doesn’t matter what I go home with… I’m probably buying everything as soon as I can.

You simply will not find someone who fangirls over their friends more than I do. I feel like I’m getting the inside scoop from the most well-curated of all influencers in the whole wide internet, but they’re here, IRL, and they’re the most gorgeous, put together, discerning, well-researched (if not perhaps just a leeeeetle bit anxiety-driven) girls in the world, who appear to be Benjamin-Buttoning right in front of my eyes. So this shit they’re touting? I am BUYING.

The day after the party, our hostess is kind enough to snap pictures and send links of all the items, so my online Sephora supermarket sweep is a breeze. I usually forward this list via email upon request, but I’m also sharing with you here. 🙂

Without further ado – here are the items.

Category 1: Beauty

What I brought:  The Multiples from NARS in the shade Orgasm, which I am obsessed with, and Tarte Amazonian Clay Shimmering Light highlighter in color Champagne Glow.  (At full retail value, yes – totally over the budget limit, but I got both items on Black Friday at a nice discount, so I’m still kosher.)

What I went home with: K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave In Molecular Repair Hair mask

(OMFG. It is INSANE))

Here’s the rest of the Beauty stuff AKA my shopping list:

    Category 2: Home

    What I brought:

I broke the rules and brought too many items.  But I had to choose between being authentic or compliant and I chose the former.  I stand by this choice.  (Unless it gets me kicked out or something, bc then I am very very sorry and I don’t know what I was thinking.) Monogrammed Tea Towel from my shop, Safely Universal Cleaner Rise scent, Kitchen Gizmo Snap’N Strainer, Luna Sundara Palo Santo Smudging Sticks

    What I went home with:

The Million Roses in Neon Pink.  Apparently I don’t have to do anything to or for these “Luxury Forever Flowers” except leave them alone, and they will stay just like this for 3+ years.  They’re already my favorite child.

I’ve seen the Venus et Fleur version before, but I had never heard of this brand and I really just couldn’t love this more.  It’s definitely one of those things I would never ever buy for myself but they literally make me happy every time I look at them.

The rest of the items were a similar mix of product and decor and they may or may not be currently en route to my home:

    1. Michael Aram White Orchid Candle
    2. Colsur Wireless Charging Station
    3. Beatriz Ball Vida Havana Large Melamine Bowl (this is the link to the MEDIUM.) (I had to have it so I’m going to my fave local home store, Fragile, here in Atlanta.)
    4. Bloomingville Cotton Tea Towel
    5. Force of Nature Multi-Purpose Cleaner Starter Kit
    6. Chilewich Ombre Table Mat Set
    7. Pura Smart Fragrance Diffuser (plus Brooklyn Candle Santorini scent)
    8. Rabbit Frozen Cocktail Tumblers
    9. Uproot Cleaner Fabric Hair Remover
    10. West Elm Faux Fur Ombre Throw

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.  Let me know if you tried anything and CERTAINLY let me know about any of your favs not listed here!

Oh and real talk, some of the links above are commissionable.  That means I’ll make a few cents if you purchase through the links, but I promise you it would take serious money for me to sell out and recommend something I don’t believe in.  I’m talking a lot.

     Like $5 min.

And I will most certainly spend it all on make up and sprinkles and glitter so you are basically all enablers.

    Xo, LC
